ORDINANCE NO. 988 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, <br />CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY <br />ON THE 19th DAY OF DECEMBER, 1983, AND PROVIDING FOR <br />THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY <br />OF THE PROPOSITION OF INCURRING INDEBTEDNESS FOR THE <br />ERECTION AND CONSTRUCTION OF A CITY HALL ON CITY <br />OWNED PROPP:RTY, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS <br />THEREFOR, FOR THE LEVYING OF A TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF <br />SAID BONDS, CONSOLIDATING SAID SPECIAL ELECTION WITH <br />THE STATE SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON DECEMBER <br />19th, 1933, DESIGNATING THE POLLING PLACES, AND <br />APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICEHS FOR SAID ELECTION. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, at an adjourns <br /> regular meeting, held on the 13th day of November, 1933, by a vote of more than two- <br /> thirds of its members, duly passed and adopted a Resolution determining: <br /> <br /> That the public interest and necessity demand the erection and construction of <br /> a City Hall and necess~ry appurtenances thereto, upon City owned property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Resolution was duly approved by the Mayor of said City of Santa <br /> Aha on the 13th day of November, 1933, and duly attested and certified to by the City <br /> Clerk of said City on the 13th day of November, 1933; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha ordains as follows: <br /> SECTION l: That the proposition of incurring a bonded debt for the purposes <br /> set forth in Resolution No. 2370, adopted by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br /> on the 13th day of September, 1933, be submitted to the qualified voters of said City, <br /> at an election to be held for that purpose, and that the election shall be, and the <br /> same is hereby called to be held in the City of Santa Aha, California, on Tuesday, <br /> December 19, 1933, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said City <br /> the proposition of incurring indebtedness and issuing bonds of said City for the purpose~ <br /> set forth in said Resolution No. 2370. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That the objects and purposes for which said indebtedness is pro- <br />posed to be incurred and bonds issued therefor, and the rate of interest of said bonds, <br />are as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> That the estimated cost of said municipal improvement, as set forth in the <br />last preceding paragraph herein, is the sum of One Hundred Thousand and no/lO0 Dollars <br />($100,000.00); that the estimated cost of said municipal improvement is and will be too <br />great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of the City of Santa Aha; <br />that the amount of the principal of the indebtedness to be incurred therefor is the sum <br />of Seventy Thousand and no/lO0 Dollars ($70,000.00); that the maximum rate of interest <br />to be paid on said indebtedness wiS1 be five per cent (5%) per annum, which rate shall <br />not be exceeded in the issuance of said bonds; that if the proposition for the incurring <br />of said indebtsdmesz so submitted at said election receives the requisite number of <br />votes, to-wit: two-thirds (2/3) of the votes of the qualified electors voting at such <br />election, bonds of said City in the sum of Seventy Thousand and no/lO0 Dollars ($70,000.( <br />shall be issued and sold for the purpose of erecting and constructing said municipal <br />improvement as hereinabove set forth; that the principal and interest of said bonds <br />shall be payable in lawful money of the United States; that said bonds shall be offered <br />for sale and sold only to the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, or other fiscal agency <br />of the United States of America, and in the event that aaid bonds shall not be sold to <br />said Reconstruction Finance Corporation, or other fiscal agency of the United States of <br />~merica, no further pr~eedlngs shall be taken for the ~rection, construction and <br /> <br /> <br />
