<br />The City Council of the City of Santa Ana ordains as follows:
<br />SECTION ~l. That S~ction i of Ordinance No. 606, entitled: "An
<br />Ordinance Requiring all Persons in the City of Santa A~a, California, dealing in
<br />Second-hand Motor Cycles, Bicycles, Junk, Diamonds, and all Precious Stones,
<br />Jewelry, SiSverware, 01d Gold and Silver, Clothing, Tools, Harness, Robes, V~ips,
<br />Garden Hose, Firea~nns, Watches or Musical Instruments, or any and all Second-hand
<br />Article or Articles, to Make Out an~ Deliver Dai~y to the City Marshal of the
<br />City of Santa ina, or to his &ssi~tants or Representatives a Report of all
<br />Purchases and Sales of any such ~econd-hand Articles Made by Them ~ithin one day
<br />next Preceding Said Report, and Repealing ~ll 0rdinancem or Parts of Ordinances
<br />in Conflict Herewith, and Providing Penalties for Violation Thereof", is hereby
<br />amended to read as follows:

<br /> "SECTION l. That every person, firm or corporation buying, selling or
<br />otherwise dealing as a business in second-hand motor cycles or second-hand
<br />bicycles, diamonds, and all precious stones, silverware, Jewelry, old gold or
<br />silver, clothing, tools, harness, robes, whips, garden hose, firearms, junk,
<br />watches or musical instruments, or any other second-hand article, or either or
<br />any of said articles within the City of Santa Aha, California, shall keep a recor(
<br />of all such arttclss so purchased which shall at all times during business hours
<br />be open to the inspection of the City Marshal or any police officer of the City
<br />of Santa Aha, and shall daily make ~t and deliver to the City Marshal of the
<br />said City of Santa Aha, or to the officer in charge at police headquarters on a
<br />blank form to be furnished by said City Marshal for that purpose, a true and
<br />complete report of all second-hand motor-cycles or second-hand bicycles, diamonds
<br />and all precious stones, silverwaro,' JewelrY,i old goSd or silver, clothing, tools
<br />harness, robes, whips, garden hose, firearms, Junk, watches or musical instrtunent
<br />or any other second-hand article, or either of any of said articles purchased,
<br />sold, or otherwise dealt in, with or by such person, firm or corporation within
<br />said City of Santa Aha, the day preceding said report, together with the time
<br />(meaning the hou~ of day) when purchased or sold or otherwise dealt in or with,
<br />and the description of the person or persons from whom bought or to whom sold or
<br />with whom otherwise dealt with, and also the t~ue name as nearly as ~he same can
<br />be obtained by the person, firm or corporation making such report; said report
<br />shall be written in the English language in a clear, legible manner.

<br /> Provided that all second-hand merchandise purchased or otherwise
<br />acquired in conformity with the provisions of this Ordinance, shall not be sold
<br />or offered for sale until a period of twenty-one (21) days shall have elapsed
<br />
