RESOLUTION NO. 62-29 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING OPPOSITION <br />TO ASSEMBLY BILL 2728 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there was introduced Assembly Bill No. 2728 in the <br />1961 session of the State Legislature which ks now reported to be <br />under study by the Assembly Interim Committee on Municipal and County <br />Government; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this City Council believes that the undesirable <br />features of the Multipurpose District Act proposed by said Assembly <br />Bill far outweigh any advantages which said Act could afford to the <br />citizens of the State of California. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana hereby expresses its opposition to legislation <br />creating or permitting a multipurpose district as proposed by Assembly <br />Bill No. 2728 and requests the League of Cities and the Orange County <br />representatives in the Legislature to oppose the passage of any such <br />legislation. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED~ %~at this City Council approves the <br />Statement of Principles adopted at the Special Meeting of the League <br />of California Cities regarding the Multipurpose ~istrict Act and <br />directs that a copy of said Statement of Principles be forwarGeu, wiun <br />a copy of this Resolution, to Senator Murdy, Assemblymen Sumner and <br />Hanna, League of California Cities and to Honorable Clark L.
