<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
<br />CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF
<br />BONDS OF SAID CITY F0R THE ERECTION AND
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF A CITY HALL IN SAID CITY.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 988 of the,City of Santa Aha, a special
<br />election was duly and regularly held in said City on the 19th day of December, 1933, at
<br />
<br />which election there was submitted to the qualified voters of said 0ity the following
<br />
<br />proposition, to-wit:
<br />
<br />and
<br />
<br />Shall the City of Santa Aha incur a bonded debt of $70,000.00, for
<br />the purpose of erecting, constructing and completing certain
<br />municipal improvements, to-wit:
<br />
<br />The erection and construction of a City Hall and necessary appurt-
<br />enances thereto, to be located on City owned property, at the south-
<br />east corner of Third and Main Streets in said City; provided that
<br />said bonds shall ce offered for sale ~nd sold only to the Reconstruct-
<br />ion Finance Corporation, or to such other fiscal agency of the
<br />United States of America as will purchase the same, and shall bear
<br />interest at a maximum rate of five per cent (5%) p~r annum; and pro-
<br />~vided,~further, that said bonds shall De sold only upon condition
<br />that the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, or other Fiscal agency
<br />of the United States, shall make a grant of $30,000 to the City of
<br />Santa A~a for use in the erection and construction of said City Hall
<br />and necessary appurtenances thereto,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, said proposition received the affirmative vote and assent of more
<br />than two-thirds of all the qualified voters of said City voting at the said election and
<br />the said city is uow authorized to issue bonds in the amount and for the purpose herein-
<br />before specified:
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha do ordain as follows
<br /> Section le That bonds of the City of Santa Ana in the amount of seventy
<br />
<br />thousand dollars ($V0,000.00) be issued and sold for the purpose set out in the
<br /> Raid bonds shall be designated .CI~JYHALL BOND.
<br />proposition in the recitals hereof. / Said bonds shall be seventy (70) in number,
<br />
<br />numbered from one (1) to seventy (70), inclusive, and shall be of the denomination of
<br />one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) each; all of said bonds shall be dated August l, 1934.
<br />Said oonds shall mature in consecutive numerical order, three bonds annually from
<br />August l, 1955 to August l, 194~, both inclusive, and four bonds annually from August
<br />l, 19A5 to 195~, both inclusive.

<br /> Section 2. All of the bonds provided for herein shall bear ~nterest at the
<br />rate of four per cent (4%) per annum, payable semi-annually on the first days of Februar
<br />and August of each year. Both principal and interest of said bonds shall be payable
<br />in any coin or currency which on the respective dates of payment of the principal of and
<br />interest on the oonds is legal tender for the payment of public and private debts, at the
<br />office of the City Treasurer of the City of Santa Ana in Santa Aha, California.

<br /> Section 3e That the executive of said City, to-wit, the Mayor and President
<br />of the Board of Trustees and Council of said City, and the Treasurer of said City, are
<br />hereby authorized and directed to sign all of said bonds and the City Clerk is hereby
<br />authorized and directed to countersign said bonds and to affix thereto the corporate
<br />seal of said City, and the Treasurer of said City is hereby authorized and directed to
<br />sign the interest coupons of said bonds by his printed, lithographed or engraved
<br />
<br />facsimile signature,
<br />
<br />consecutively.

<br /> Sec.tion 4.
<br />
<br />of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California,
<br />
<br />and to number said interest coupons of each of said bonds
<br />
<br />That said bonds shall be issued in accordance with the provisions
<br /> entitled "An Act Authorizing
