ORDINANCE NO. 1016 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ~M~.NDING <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 892 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE <br /> ESTABLISHING A CITY PLANNING C0~,IISSION FOR THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, WITH MEMBERSHIP, POWERS AND <br /> DUTIES AS PROVIDED BY STATE LAW." <br /> <br /> THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION l: That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 892, entitled "An Ordinance <br />Establishing a City Planning Commission for the City of Santa Ana, with 5{embership, <br />Pore'ers and Duties as Provided by State Law" be and the same is hereby amended so as to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> "SECTION 2: The members of the existing City Planning Commission shall <br />continue in office until the 30th day of June, 1955, and they and their successors <br />shall have the powers and duties as specified by State Law. <br /> <br /> "The Planning Commission of the City of Santa Aha, from and after June <br />1935, shall consist of nine members, with powers and duties as specified by State Law, <br />of which six members shall be appointed by the Mayor of the City of Santa Ana with the <br />approval of the Council of said City, and three shall be ex-officio members who shall <br />be the City Engineer, the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of Santa Ana, and <br />the Mayor of said City. Of the members of the Com~nission first appointed after the <br />passage of this Ordinance, two shall be appointed for the term of one year, two for the <br />term of two years, one for the term of three years, and one for the term of four years, <br />which terms of office shall expire on th~ 30th day of June,l~936, 19~7, 19~8 and 1939, <br />respectively. Their successors shall be appointed for the term of four years each. <br />If a vacancy shall occur otherv~ise than by the expiration of term of office, it shall <br />be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term. The terms of ex- <br />officio members shall correspond to their respective official tenures. All members <br />shall hold office until their respective successors are appointed and qualified." <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: If any section, subLsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this <br />orf~inance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall <br />not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the ordinance. The Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance, and <br />each section, sub-section, sentence, clause and phrase thereof, irrespective of the <br />fact that s~y one or more other sections, sub-sections, sentences, clauses or phrases <br />be declared invalid or unconstitutional. <br /> <br /> The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause <br />the same to be published in three consecutive issues of the Santa Ana Daily Evening <br />Register, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of Santa Ana, <br />and hereby designated for that purpose, and 30 days thereafter shall take effect and <br />be in force. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular <br />meeting held on the 17th day of June, 1955. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> E.
