CHANGE 0F LOCATION <br /> <br /> SECTION 7: Any person desiring to change the location of domestic service <br /> that has already been installed, shall make application to the City Water Department,~ <br /> and upon payment of ~5.00 to cover cost of same, the Water Department will cause <br /> change to be made. Where it is necessary to protect meters from damage by heavy <br /> trucking in driveways where meters are located, a charge of ~15.00 will be made to <br /> cover cost of heavy cast iron meter box. <br /> <br /> FIRE SERVICES <br /> <br /> SECTION 8~ No fire line shall be used for any purpose other than for the <br /> extinguishment of fire. Under no circumstances shall any meter be installed on fire <br /> lines. All necessary maintenance and repairs on fire lines from water main to City <br /> <br />curb cocks shall be paid for by owner. Upon failure to pay said charges, water will <br /> <br />be shut off until such charge is paid. <br /> <br /> Fire hydrantm are provided for the sole purpose of extinguishing fire, and <br /> shall be opened and used only by the Water and Fire Departments, or such persons as <br /> may be authorized to do so by the Water Department. <br /> <br /> AI~ persons using water through fire hydrants, or other hydrant owned or ~ <br /> controlled by the City of Santa Ana, shall be required to obtain a permit so to do from <br /> the Water Department, which shall issue no such permit to any person who has violated <br /> any of the provisions of these rules, or whose indebtedness to the City of Santa Ana <br /> for water used, or damage to hydrants, is delinquent. <br /> <br /> All persons permitted to open fire hydrants, will be required to replace caps <br /> on the outlets when the same are not in use. Failure to do so will be sufficient <br /> cause to prohibit further use of the hydrants, and the refusal to grant subsequent <br /> permits for the use of such fire hydrants. <br /> <br /> ~.~.TERS TO REMAIN PROPH~TY OF. THE CITY <br /> <br /> SECTION 9: All water meters and meter boxes installed by the Water Depart- <br />ment shall remain at all times the property of the Water Department, and where <br />replacements, repairs or adjustments of any meter are rendered necessary by the act, <br />negligence or carelessness of the consumer, any expense caused the department thereby~~ <br />shall be charged against, and collected from the consumer. If consumer or owner fails! <br /> <br />to pay such charges, water may be shut off until such charges are paid. Each separatei <br /> <br />pipe connection in any meter box shall be separately metered. <br /> FAILURE OF, M~TE~ <br /> <br /> SECTION 10: If a meter fails to register du~ing any period or is known to <br />register inaccurately, the consumer shall be charged with an average daily consumption <br />at same season, as shown by the meter when in use and registering accurately. <br /> <br /> INSTALLING METERS <br /> <br /> SECTION ll: The City of Santa Aha shall have the right at any time, and at <br />any point, to put in a water meter, and may force the collection for the amount of <br />water that shall be used, in accordance with all the ordinances, rules and regulations ~ <br />of s aid City, governing the consumption of water,and for that purpose, and at any time, i <br />go upon the premises of the consumer of water. <br /> <br /> STOP COCKS <br /> <br /> SECTION 12: There shall be a stop cock in every attachment on the sidewalks, <br />Just inside the curb, at a point to be designated by said City, which said stop cock <br /> <br /> <br />
