until the City shall have been notified in writing of the discontinuance of the use <br /> <br /> of water, and to turn the water off. <br /> <br /> Any authorized employee of the City Water Department shall be admitted at <br /> all reasonable hours, to all parts of the premises supplied with water, to see that <br /> the regulations are observed. <br /> <br /> No one except an authorized employee of the Water Depa~tment shall turn the <br /> water on or off from any building or premises at City curb cock~ or connect or <br /> disconnect or in any way tamper with any pipes in the meter boxes or with any other <br /> part of the water system in the City of Santa Aha. <br /> <br /> No user of water supplied by the Santa Ana Water Department shall supply <br /> water to users on a piece of property held by another owner; nor shall water be <br /> supplied through one meter to a group of users occupying a parcel of ground under one <br /> ownership exceeding one-half acre in area. <br /> <br /> All faucets, sprinklers, hose nozzles or other continuous streams must be <br /> shut off prcmptly upon the alarm of f ire, the water not to be turned on again until <br /> the fire is known to be extinguished. <br /> <br /> No person shall place on or about any hydrant or curb-cock connected with <br /> the pipes of the Santa Ana Water Department, any building material or other obstruct- <br /> ions, so as to prevent free access to the same, or leave any vehicle standing within <br /> l0 ft. of same. <br /> <br /> The City reserves the right at any time to shut off the water in their mains <br />for the purpose of m~ktng extensions or repairs, or for other purposes, and all <br />persons having boilers within their premises not supplied with tanks or cisterns, but <br />depending upon the pipes of the City Water Department to keep them supplied, are <br />hereby cautioned against danger of collapse. <br /> <br /> That whenever a water consumer shall allow the payment of the water bills, <br /> fines or penalties for water used upon any property in the City of Santa Ana to become <br /> due and delinquent the same shall be a lien against said real property and said lien ~ <br /> shall not be affected by a change in the ownership of said real property. <br /> <br /> SECTIO~ 16: Any person~ firm or corporation, violating any of the provision~ <br />of this Ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction in a <br />court of competent Jurisdiction, shall be fined not more than fifty dollars, or be i <br />imprisoned in the County Jail of the County of Orange not exceeding twenty-five days, ~ <br />or by both such fine and imprisonment, i <br /> <br /> SECTION~IT: That Ordinance No. 839 entitled "An Ordinance Establishing Wate~ <br />Eates in the City of Santa Aha and Prescribing Rules and Regulations Governing Con- <br />sumption of Water, and Fixing a Penalty for the Violation Thereof" and all ordinances <br />or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> SECTION 18: That in the event any section, subsection or part of this <br />Ordinance shall be declared to be unconstitutional or invalid, the same shall not <br />affect the validity of other portions of this Ordinance, and the said City Council <br />hereby declares that it is their intention to enact and pass each section of this <br />Ordinance independently of the constitutionality or validity of any other portion hereof. <br /> <br /> SECTION 19: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance <br />and shall csnse the same to be published in three consecutive issues of the ORANGE <br />COUNTY REPORTER, a daily newspaper, printed, published and circulated in the City of <br /> <br /> <br />
