RESOLUTION NO. 62-83 AUTHORIZING CONSTRUCTION <br />OF A SHORT SANITARY SEWER ON FIFTEENTH AND KING <br />STREETS, WAIVING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS AND <br />DECLARING NECESSITY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF HEALTH <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the vicinity of the sewer line hereinbelow referred <br />to, soil and weather conditions have resulted in continual overflowing <br />of private septic tanks and the area badly needs sewerage facilities. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby <br />finds and declares that the overflow of septic tanks in the vicinity <br />of the intersection of Fifteenth and King Streets constitutes a con- <br />tinuing public nuisance by generation of foul odors, the attraction <br />of flies, affording a breeding place of flies and constitutes a <br />serious danger to the life and health of human beings in the vicinity <br />of said intersection; wherefor, an urgent necessity exists for the <br />immediate installation of a sanitary sewer line to properly remove <br />the raw sewage from the area. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a contract for the construction <br />of a sanitary sewer line beginning at a point on Fifteenth Street, <br />approximately 100 feet east of King Street, and running thence West <br />to King Street; thence Northeasterly along King Street to a point <br />approximately 350 feet North of Fifteenth Street, may be let without <br />advertising for bids because of the urgent necessity for the preserva- <br />tion of life and health in said area. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Aha at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of April, 1962. <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />C~.~RK OF-T~E COUNCIL <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
