RESOLUTION NO. 62-99 EXPRESSING APPRECIATION <br />TO A. H. ALLEN FOR TWENTY YEARS OF SERVICE AS <br />THE SANTA ANA DIRECTOR ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />OF THE METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN <br />CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana was one of the nine original <br />member entities in the formation of The Metropolitan Water District <br />of Southern California, and said City was first represented by <br /> <br />S. H. Finley, who served as the Santa Ana Director frc~ December 29, <br />1928, to April 10, 1942, when Mr. A. H. Allen was appointed; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. A. H. Allen did, upon the 10th day of April, 1962, <br />complete twenty years of service as Santa Ana's Director on said <br />Metropolitan Water District Board; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, only one other director has a longer period of service <br />on said Board, and no director has more ably served said District nor <br />more generally deserved the respect and appreciation of the citizens <br />of the entity he there represents. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City Of Santa Ana, speaking for the citizens of said City and the <br />official government of said City, hereby expresses the appreciation <br />of the District he represents to A. H. "Gus" Allen for a long out- <br />standing service ~nd for the effort, interest, intelligence and <br />integrity which has gone into the more than twenty years as Santa Ana's <br />own Director. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />at its adjourned regular meeting held on the 18th day of May, 1962. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
