RESOLUTION NO. 62-113 ESTABLISHING POLICY OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL ON USES IN THE AREA SURROUNDING THE <br />CIVIC CENTER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Civic Center area has now been established as <br />bounded by Sixth, Sycamore, Eighth and Flower Streets and having <br />adjacent civic uses on the Easterly side of Sycamore Street and on <br />the Westerly side of Flower Street, and increasing numbers of <br />inquiries or requests regarding zone changes and variances are being <br />received regarding property facing said Civic Center area or located <br />in the area peripheral thereto. Wherefore, the City Council believes <br />the statement of policy affecting these surrounding areas should be <br />made. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: By the City Council of the City <br />of Santa Ana that said Council believes the integrity of the Civic <br />Center area should be maintained; that all requests for variances or <br />changes of zone should be examined to first determine that the proposed <br />new use will be compatible with the development of the entire area; <br />that said area surrounding the Civic Center hasas~/tshighest and best <br />use the location of office buildings and similar uses; that the <br />commercial uses of wholesale and retail trade or mechanical services <br />are not generally compatible and generally would not be the highest <br />type use facing or adjacent to the Civic Center area as now established. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Aha at its regular meeting held on the 18th day of June, 1962. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />~/ VEC~ MAYOR <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) SS <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />I, MARION SUTTNER, do hereby certify that I am the Clerk of <br /> <br />the Council of the City of Santa Aha; that the foregoing Resolution <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
