oRDINANCE NO. 1128 <br /> <br /> AN OR~ NANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. lllO OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA RELATING TO AIR RAID PRECAUTIONS. <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION l: That Section 4 of Ordinance No. lllO of the City of Santa Ana <br />entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA RELATING TO AIR RAID PRECAUTIONS" is <br />hereby amended so as to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "SECTION 4: The maintenance or leaving of any illumination <br /> <br /> at night from sunset to sunrise, except within a blackout structure, <br /> without provision for its extinguishment wi thin one minute by a competent <br /> person over the age of eighteen years in attendance at the place where <br /> such illumination is controlled, is hereby prohibited. It is provided, <br /> however, that this section shall not be deemed to prohibit the maintenance <br /> of any warning light or lantern in'and about any excavation or obstruction <br /> in any public way or place, or at any place of danger upon public or private <br /> property, when such warning light or lantern is accessible and extinguish- <br /> able at the time of an air raid warning signal by any person, and when such <br /> warning light or lantern is required to be maintained by any other law or <br /> ordinance and is so designed as to emit no illumination upward in excess <br /> of twelve degrees from the horizontal and conforms to the standards <br /> prescribed bY the Ninth Regional Civilian Defense Board and is approved <br /> by the Com~n~nding General of the Western Defense Command and Fourth Army."' <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this <br />ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the SANTA ANA <br />REGISTER, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of Santa Ana <br />and hereby designated for that purpose. The City Council declares that this ordinance <br />is adopted as an emergency measure and shall take effect from and after its adoption. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the Ci%y of Santa Ana at a regular <br />meeting held on the 1st day of February, 1945. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Erma Keeler <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br />Joseph P.
