RESOLUTION NO. 62-1~ REQUESTING DISSOLUTION OF <br />GARDEN GROVE SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the GARDEN GROVE SANITARY DISTRICT when first estab- <br />lished, served a large area of unincorporated territory and served <br />a very necessary function in said territory; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, since the formation of said District the territory <br />has ceased to be unincorporated in its nature and is now included <br />by incorporation and annexation in various cities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the fact of the existence of said SANITARY DISTRICT <br />within the several cities has resulted in unnecessary expense by <br />reason of the creation of new sewer lines within said cities and the <br />automatic stopping of annexation to said DISTRICT so that District <br />lines are not now and can never be used to serve areas for which <br />they were originally built. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BYTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA: That in the interest of economy, efficient use <br />of sewerage facilities presently in existence, and economical and <br />orderly development of the area, said City Council respectfully re- <br />quests that the GARDEN GROVE SANITARY DISTRICT be dissolved and its <br />functions, facilities and assets be divided among the various cities <br />in which said DISTRICT now exists. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council is di- <br />rected to send a copy of this Resolution to the GARDEN GROVE SANI- <br />TARY DISTRICT and to each of the cities in which said DISTRICT <br />presently exists. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of July, 1962. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br /> <br />
