<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
<br />CALIFORNIA, ORDERING, CALLING, AND PRO~
<br />VIDING FOR AND GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL
<br />ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SEID CITY ON TUESDAY,
<br />APRIL 9, 1948, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING
<br />TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY FOUR
<br />PROPOSITIONS TO INCUR BONDED INDEBTEDNESS BY
<br />SAID CITY FOR CERTAIN NUNICIPAL IMPROVENENTS.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Santa Aha, California, did, on the 18th
<br />day of February, 1946, by a vote of more than two-thirds of the members of said Council,
<br />adopt~Resolution No. 3440 entitled "Resolution of the Council of the City of Santa Ana,
<br />California, determining that the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition
<br />and construction of certain municipal improvements and making findings relating thereto"
<br />which said resolution was duly signed and approved by the Mayor of said City and atteste
<br />and certified by the City Clerk of said City;
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Santa Ana DO ORDAIN aa follows:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That a special election be held, and the same is hereby called to
<br />be held, in the City of Santa Ana, California, on the 9th day of April, 1946, for the
<br />purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said City four propositions of incurrin
<br />indebtedness and issuing bonds of said City therefor, in the amounts hereinafter set
<br />forth, and for the objects and purposes set forth in sai~ resolution and hereinafter
<br />stated.
<br />
<br /> Section 2. That the objects and purposes for which said indebtednesses are
<br />proposed to be incurred and bonds issued therefor are as follows:
<br />
<br />BOND PROPOSITIQN NO. L:
<br />
<br /> The acquisition and construction by the City of Santa Ana of a
<br />certain municipal improvement, to-wit: Street improvements in the
<br />City of Santa Aha, said improvements to consist of the construction
<br />and reconstruction of public streets in said City, including the
<br />grading and resurfacing thereof; the widening, straightening, opening
<br />and extending of ~ublic streets therein; the acquisition of all rights
<br />of way and easements necessary therefor; and the improvement of the
<br />portions of said streets so opened, widened, straightened or extended
<br />by the grading, paving and curbing thereof; including in said street
<br />improvements the construction of all culverts and drainage structures
<br />necessary therefor and the construction of a bridge on Bristol Street
<br />across Santiago Creek.

<br />BOND PROPOSITION NO. 2:
<br />
<br /> The acquisition and construction by the City of Santa Ana of a
<br />certain municipal improvement, to-wit: The construction of drains,
<br />pipes, conduits, ditches and other drainage structures for the control
<br />and disposal of storm waters in said City including the acquisition of
<br />all mat®p~Al~, pipe, conduit, and easements and rights of way necessary
<br />therefor.

<br />BOND PROPOSITION NO. 3:
<br />
<br /> The acquisition and construction by the City of Santa Aha ~f a
<br />certain municipal improvement, to-wit: Additions to and improvements
<br />of the sanitary sewer system of said City, said additions and improve-
<br />ments to consist of the construction of extensions of and additions to
<br />the main trunk and interceptor sewer system; the reconstruction of
<br />certain main trunk and interceptor sewers; and the reconstruction of the
<br />main trunk line sewer of the City of Santa Aha from the City of Santa
<br />Ana to its outlet at the sewage treatment plant near the southwest corner
<br />of Ellis and Verano Streets on the west side of the Santa Aha River,
<br />including the acquisition of all materials, pipe, apparatus and equipment
<br />and rights of way and easements necessary for said improvement.

<br />BOND PROPOSITION ~0. 4:
<br />
<br /> The acquisition and construction by the City of Santa Ana of a
<br />certain municipal improvement, to-wit: Works and structures for
<br />the control of storm and flood waters of Santiago Creek in the City of
<br />Santa Ana, said works and structures to consist of retaining walls and
<br />the paving of the channel of a portion of said creek.
<br />
<br /> Section 3. That the estimated cost of the proposed municipal improvement
<br />described in Bond Proposition No. i of Section 2 hereof is the sum of five hundred
<br />thousand dollars ($800,000.00); that the amount of the principal of the indebtedness to
<br />be incurred therefor is the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00); and that
<br />the maximum rate of interest to be paid on said indebtedness shall not ~exceed three per
<br />cent (3%) per annum, payable semi annually.

<br /> That the estimated cost of the proposed municipal improvement described in
<br />Bond Proposition No. 2 of Section 2 hereof is the sum of five hundred seventy-five
<br />thousand dollars ($$78,000.00); that the amount of ~he principal of the indebtedness to
<br />be incurred therefor is the sum of five hundred seventy-five thousand dollars ($575,000.,
<br />and that the maximum rate of interest to be paid on said indebtedness shall not exceed
<br />three per cent (3%) per annum, payable semi annually.
<br />
<br /> That the estimated cost of the proposed municipal improvement described in
<br />Bond Proposition No. 3 of Section 2 hereof is the sum of three hundred thousand dollars
<br />($300,000.00); that the amotuut of the principal of the indebtedness to be incurred
<br />therefor is the sum of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00); and that the
<br />maximum rate of interest to be paid on said indebtedness shall not exceed three per
<br />cent (3%) per annum, payable semi annually.
