ORDINANCE NO. llV4 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING SET-BACK LINES UPON ~;~EST SEVENTEENTH STREET, ON BOTH SIDES OF SAID STREET, FROM FLOWER STREET TO THE WESTERLY LIMITS OF THE CITY. of Seventeenth Street to ~ect any building, thereon, to-wit: The City Council of the City of Santa Ana do ordain as follows: Section l: That the public interest and convenience requires, and there is hereby established set-back lines upon the following street in the City of Santa Ana, California, between which lines and the center it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation wall fence or other structure, or place any structure West Seventeenth Street from Flower Street to the Westerly limits of said City on both sides of said street, fifty (50) feet to the North and South sides of. the center of said West Seventeenth Street. Section 2: That the foregoing set-back lines are established after a Resolution of Intention as duly passed and adopted and a hearing held thereon, after notice by publication and posting in the manner prescribed by Ordinance No. 815 of the City of Santa Aha, entitled, "An Ordinance Prescribing the Method of Procedure for Establishing Set-Back Lines in the City of Santa Ana", and the City Council having heard and passed upon all protests or objections filed or made to the establishment of said set-back lines. Section 5: That the Building Inspector of the City of Santa Analshall refuse to issue any permit for any building, wall, fence or other structur~ proposed to be erected within the space the exterior lines or boundaries of which are hereinabove described. Section ~: That any person, firm or corporation violating any or'the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars (~800.00), or by imprisonment in the County Jain of the County of Orange, for a period of not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day during any portion of which any violation of this Ordinance shall be permitted, continued, or cormnitted by such person, firm or corporation, and shall be punishable therefor a provided by this Ordinance. Section 5: Any part or portion of any Ordinance in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby repealed. Section 8: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published in three consecutive issues of the Santa Ana Register, a newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of Santa Ana, and hereby designated for that purpose. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty days from and after its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular adjourned meeting held on the 22nd day of July, 1~8.
