maintained and used to meet the legal demands and expenditures of the <br /> Commission made for supervision~ promotion and operation of a recreational <br /> program, and for the purchase of playground equipment and supplies. <br /> <br /> Section ll: The Connnission may, for and on behalf of the City of <br />S~uta Ana, receive legacies, gifts or bequests for the purchase, mainte- <br />nance or improvement o£ grounds, buildings, equipment or facilities for <br />the purpose of public recreation. All moneys received from such legacies, <br />gifts or bequests shall, unless otherwise expressly provided hy the terms <br />of said legacies, gifts or bequests, be deposited in the treasury of the <br />City of Santa Ana in the "Recreation Fund", and the same may be withdrawn <br />therefrom and paid out only in the manner as is provided for the payment <br />of moneys legally appropriated for the supervision, promotion and opera- <br />tion of public recreation programs and purchase of playground equipment <br />and supplies. If the moneys derived from such gifts, legacies or bequests <br />shall at any time exceed in amount t~he sum necessary for the inumediate <br />expenditure for the purposes of public recreation, then the Commission <br />may invest all or a part of the same in interest bearing bonds of the <br />United States of America or of the State of California, or of any munici- <br />pality or school district thereof. <br /> <br /> Section 12: The Commission shall make a report every tt~ee (3) <br />months of the activities thereof to the City Council and an annual report <br />of the activities thereof to the City Council, which annual report shall <br />be filed with the City Clerk. <br /> <br /> Section lO: If any section, subsection, clause or phrase of this <br />ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, such decision <br />shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections of this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Section 14: Any provisions or clauses of the several ordinances of <br />the City of Santa Ana in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealede <br /> <br /> It Appearing that a majority of the qualified electors voting <br />at a special election held on the 5th day of November, 1946, in the <br />City of Santa Aha (which special election was consolidated with the <br />General Election of the same date), voting upon the foregoing ordinance, <br /> <br /> 4e <br /> <br /> <br />
