THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0F SA~{TA ANA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWs: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 1056 entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CREATING A CIVIL SERVICE BOARD, PROVIDING FOR THE ~[ANNER AND I~THOD OF APPOINT~,FENT; PROVIDING F01~THE PLACING OF ~MBERS OF THE POLICE DEPART~,~ENT, AND THE tVIRE DEPARTmeNT, L~DER CIVIL SERVICE", is hereby amended by adding thereto new ~ections to be denominated Sec- tions 30o01, 30o0~, 30.03, 30.0~, ~0.05, 30.06, 30o0V, 30.08~ to read as follows: "SECTION 30.01. ESTABLISH~,~NT OF CIVIL SERVICE FOR ADDIT IONAL DEPART~,~NT$, 0PPICERS AND E}~[PLOYEES. That there is hereby created and established civil service for all offices, positions and employment in the service of the City, not heretofore service, (b) established under civil except: Elective offices Positions on appointive boards, cormmissions and committees (c) Crossing guards (d) Casual or seasonal employees. For the purpose of this ordinance such casual or seasonal employment shall not continue for a longer period than five (5) months, and no person shall be eligible to serve as a casual or seasonal employee for more than an aggregate period of five (5) months in any one fiscal year. (e) Any position created without salary (f) Assistants, deputies, clerks and stenographers of the City Attorney (g) Part time employees in any office or department of the City.
