shall ~ to be the proportionate share of the cost of constructing <br /> the water main for the service to the property for which meter connection <br /> is applied for and said cost shall be computed upon a basis of the linear <br /> front footage of said property abutting on said 'water main. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5. PENALTIES. Any person violating any of the provisions <br />of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction <br />thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars <br />($500.00) or by imprisonment in the County Jail for not more than six (6) <br />months or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br /> SECTION 6. This Ordinance is urgently required for the ~mmediate <br />preservation of the public health, peace and safety. The following is a <br />specific statement showing the urgency of this Ordinance: <br /> <br /> That there are areas in the City of Santa Aha not now served with <br />sewer lines, that in some instances because of defective septic tanks and <br />cesspools a present d~nger to the public health now exists, and this Ordin- <br />ance is adopted to allow the City to put in sewer mains to correct and <br />remedy the existing health menace and to insure the safety of the public <br />generally. <br /> <br /> SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this <br />Ordinance and s~all cause the same to be published in three consecutive <br />issues of the Santa Aha Register, a newspaper printed, published and cir- <br />culated in the City of Santa Ana, and hereby designated for that purpose. <br />The City Council declares that this Ordinance is adopted as an emergency <br />measure and shall take effect frma and after its adoption. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha at <br /> <br />its <br /> <br />regular meeting held on the 15th day of September , 1947. <br /> <br />~TTEST :~ <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
