pay for such water used at the rate of ten cents (10¢) for each 250 gal- <br /> lon tank or fraction thereof, and the r~te of payment for lsrger tanks <br /> shall be multiples of the rate of 250 gallon tanks. <br /> <br /> SECTION 10: ~ETERS TO RE~AIN PROPERTY OF THE cITY. All water <br /> meters and meter boxes installed by the Water Department shall remain <br /> at all times the property of the Water Department, and where replace- <br /> ments, repairs or adjustments of any meter are rendered necessary by the <br /> act, negligence or c~relessness of the consumer, any expense caused the <br /> Department thereby shall be charged against, and collected from the con- <br /> sumer. If consumers or owner fails to pay such charges, water may be <br /> shut off until such charges are paid. Each separate pipe connection in <br /> any meter box ~hall be separately metered. <br /> <br /> SECTION ll: FAILURE OF ~TER. If a meter fails to register dur- <br /> ing any period or is known to register inaccurately, the consu£~er shall <br /> <br /> be charged with an average daily consumption at same season as shown by <br />~the meter ~i~en in use and registering accurately. <br /> <br /> SECTION 12: INST~LLILL~G ~ETERS. The City of Santa Ana shall have <br /> the right at any time, and et ~y point, to put in a water meter, and <br /> may force the collection for the amount oi water that shall be used, in <br /> accordance with all the Ordinances, rules and regulations of said City, <br /> governing the consumption of water, and for that purpose, and at any <br /> time, go upon the premises ef the consumer of water.~ <br /> <br /> SECTION 13: STOP COCKS., There shall be a stop cock in every at- <br /> tachment on the sidewalks, just inside t~e curb, at a point to be desig- <br /> nated by said City, which said stop-cock and its box shall be supplied <br /> by the City, and shall be for its exclusive use, and under its exclusive <br /> c ont ro i. <br /> <br /> SECTION 14: DA~&~GES. The City will not be responsible for dam- <br /> ages to buildings or their contents, from any break beyond the street <br /> service box; the water consumers are hereby required, for their own pro- <br /> tection, to provide at their ov~ expense, another stop-cock to be placed <br /> at the first suitable point beyond the stop or service of the City. <br /> SECTION 15: APPLICATION FOR W~TER i~LII,iS ON NEW SUBDIVISIONS.
