RESOLUTION NO. 62-161 REAFFIRMING THE INTENT AND <br />SPIRIT EXPRESSED IN RESOLUTION NO. 60-77 ADOPTED A~RIL 18, <br />1960. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />heretofore adopted Resolution No. 60-77 expressing the atti- <br />tude of the City of Santa And on the maintenance of the <br />integrity of the campus of the University of California at <br />Irvine and the University community that would surround the <br />same; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Santa Aha <br />does desire to reassure the Board of l%egents of the University <br />of California and The Irvine Company of its intent to comply <br />fully with the spirit and intent of said Resolution No. 60-77; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Rmsolution No. 60-77 was adopted by <br />said City Council on the representation of The Irvine Company <br />that the proposed site for the proposed University community <br />would lie generally between MacArthur Boulevard and the <br />proposed San Diego Freeway; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on June 11, 1962, a Petition was filed <br />with the City Council of SantAna for the annexation of approx- <br />imately 3500 acres lying Easterly of and adjacent to the <br />93,000 acres of The Irvine Company, said Petition bmving been <br />filed under the Uninbmbited Territory Act of 1939, and said <br />City Council did thereafter adopt Resolution No. 62-110 <br />designating the proceedings as the "Newport and Dyer S.E. <br />Annex", and it was necessary under requirements of law to <br />include within said annexation a connecting strip 300 feet <br />wide from the Easterly boundary of Santa Aha to said 3500 <br />acres to obtain contiguity; and said strip of land was <br /> <br /> <br />
