ORDINANCE NO. 1229 AN ORDINANCE AP~NDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1029 THE COUNCIL OF THE CITT OF SANTA ANA DO ORDAIN ~S FOLLOWS: SECTION l: That Ordinance No. 1029, entitled "AN ORDInanCE IN RELATION TO AND REGULATING THE BUSINESS OF DEALinG ~ MOTOR VEHICLES AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR T~ VIOLATION HEREOF." is hereby amended by amending Section i thereof to read as follows: "Section 1. DEFINITION. For the purpose of this Ordinance an automobile dealer is defined to be any person, firm or corporation engaged in, conducting, managing, or carrying on the business of buy- ing, selling, or offering for sale, consigning to be sold, receiving on consignment to sell, or otherwise dealing in motor vehicles (except bicycles) as the term "motor vehicle" is defined in the Vehicle Code of the State of California, or any person, firm or corporation who operates, manages, conducts, or cari'ies on a~ly parking lot, service station or other business place, or any employee thereof who sells or offers for sale thereon, or allows, permits or maintsins thereon, or adjacent thereto any motor vehicle as herein defined upon or near which is displayed any sign, words, or figures, which indicate that said motor vehicle is or may be for sale, or which indicate or suggest a price for said motor vehicle." SECTION 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage ~fthis Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in three consecutive issues of the Santa Ana Register, a newspaper printed, ~ublished and circulated in the City of Santa Ana, and hereby designated for that purpose.
