RESOLUTION NO. 62-230 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF T~{E COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN T~{E <br />ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF <br />FAIRVIEW STREET BETWEEN FIFTH STI%EET AND SEVENTEENTH <br />STREET <br /> <br /> WHE~, the City of Santa Ana desires to improve Fairview Street from <br /> <br /> Fifth Street to Seventeenth Street, and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, Fairview Street is au important artery in the County of Orange <br /> <br />and of general County interest, and <br /> <br /> WHEREkS, ;~rtiale 2 and 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways <br />Code authorizes a County, if it so desires~ to expend funds apportioued to it out <br />of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, <br />construction or repair of a street within a City, and <br /> <br /> WEEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide <br />iu the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year <br />1963-64 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated <br />cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway <br />Financing Program~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors did provide $121,000.00 in the Fiscal Years <br />1960-61 and 1961-62 for the subject project, and the City of Santa Ana provided <br />$128,015.00 for the same project for 'the 1960-61 and 1961-62 Fiscal Years, and <br /> <br /> W/qEREAS, the revised total estimated cost of this project exceeds the <br /> <br />approved amount of Cout~y and City funds by $64,000.00. <br /> <br /> NOW, THE~REPORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said <br />City from County Funds the amount of $32,000.00 ($17,500 Ri~t of Way; $14,500 Construc- <br />tion), said amount to be matched by funds from said City~ to be used to aid said <br />City in the Completion of acquisition of rights of way and improvement of Fairview <br />Street from Fifth Street to Seventeenth Street; said acquisition and improvement <br />to be in aecordauce with the project statement submitted with Resolution No. 59-235 <br />adopted Decemoer 21, 1959 and Resolution Number 60-268 adopted December 19, 1960. <br /> <br /> BE IT FUR~qERRESOLVED: That the Board of Supervisors of the County of <br /> <br />Orange is hereby requested to find that said acquisition of rights of way and <br />improvement on Fairview Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County <br />interest, and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: ~at, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Ana <br /> <br />agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and <br /> <br /> <br />
