RESOLL~ION NO. 63-77 OF INTENTION TO APPROVE AN <br />AMENDMEIT TO CONTRACT BETW,:,:N THE <br /> BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE <br /> STATE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State Employees' Retirement Law permits the participation <br />of public agencies and their employees in the State Employees' Retirement System <br />by the execution of a contract~ and sets forth the procedure by which said <br />public agencies may elect to subject themselves and their employees to amend- <br />ments to said law; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, one step in said procedure is the adoption by the legislative <br />body of the public agency of a resolution giving notice of its intention to <br />approve an amendment to said contract, which resolution shall contain a summary <br />of the changes proposed in said contract; and <br /> <br />W~k~EAS, the following is a summsl"y of the proposed change: <br /> <br />To provide for an election by members to contribute and <br />receive current service credit for service rendered prior <br />to membership. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA gives, and it does hereby give notice of intention to approve an <br />amendment to contract between said CITY COUNCIL and the Board of ~amt~istr~tion <br />of the State Employees' Retirement System, a stmmmry of the major provisions <br />of the proposed change and a copy of said amendment being attached hereto, <br />marked "Exhibit A" and by this reference made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> PASS~)AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of May, 1963. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) <br />coum~ OF ORANGS ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, DORIS M.
