RESOLUTION NO. 63-79 INITIATING PROCEEDINGS <br />FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME <br />FOR SAID TERRITORY OF "BRISTOL STREET AND <br />GARDEN GROVE FREEWAY S.W. ANNEX" AND GIVING <br />NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory <br />herein described, a description and map of said territory were pre- <br />sented to the Santa Ana Planning Commission, which approved annex- <br />ation of said territory, and to the Orange County Boundary Commission <br />which caused a report to be prepared finding that the boundaries of <br />said proposed annexation met with the approval of the Orange County <br />Surveyor's Office in respect to Government Code Section 35002. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for annexation <br />of said territory, herein described, to the City of Santa Ana for <br />the following reasons: <br /> <br />That the said territory can best be served by the City <br />of Santa Ana with municipal services of the highest <br />quality anywhere obtainable at a cost for such services <br />which is lower than can be obtained anywhere else in <br />the County of Orange. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />That it is to the mutual advantage of the City and the <br />land owners that said territory become a part of said <br />City. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares <br />its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described <br />under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act <br />of 1939; hereby finds and declares that said territory is uninhabited <br />within the meaning of Government Code Section 35303 on the date of <br />the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is contiguous <br />to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of Orange, State of <br />California, and is described as: <br /> <br />Commencing at the center line intersection of Memory Lane <br />(Garden Grove Blvd.) and Bristol Street, said center line <br />intersection being the Southeast corner of Lot 25 of the <br />Potts, Borden and Sidwell Tract as shown on a map thereof <br />recorded in Book 4, Page 624 of Miscellaneous Records in <br />the Office of the County Recorder Of the County of Los <br />Angeles, and running thence North 1° 09' 23" East along <br />the center line of said B~istol Street, as said center <br />line was establishedby a deed conveyed to the County of <br />Orange recorded in Book 2750, Page 366, Official Records <br />of Orange County, a distance of 535.92 feet to the inter- <br />section of said center line of Bristol Street with the <br />existing City Boundary, as said boundary was established <br />by the "Memory Lanea~d Westwood North Annex" Ordinance <br />No. NS-568 to the City of Santa Ana; thence, North 88° 59' <br />17" West along said existing City Boundary to a line <br />parallel with and 40.00 feet Westerly, measured at right <br />angles, from said center line of Bristol Street, said <br />parallel line being the westerly line of said Bristol Street <br />and to the true Point of be~innin~; thence, departing <br />from said City Boundary North 1° 09' 23" East along said <br />parallel line and along said westerly line of Bristol <br />Street a distance of 609.47 feet to a point described as <br />the "true point of beginning" in a deed to the State of <br />California, Division of Highways, recorded December 15, <br />1961, in Book 5944, Pages 943 through 949 inclusive of <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
