City's Basic Classification and Compensation Plan <br />July16, 2024 <br />Page 2 <br />Total 11,419 15 1,424 <br />Each year, the Classification and Compensation Resolution is presented to City <br />Council to: <br />• Update job classifications to reflect current standards; <br />• Add new job classifications as requested by departments to meet their <br />operational needs; <br />• Remove job classifications that are no longer in use, not filled by employees, <br />and not budgeted; and <br />• Establish the FY 2024-25 Salary Schedule to reflect wage increase set forth in <br />the Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) negotiated with the employee <br />bargaining groups. <br />Staff has met and conferred with labor groups, and discussed each of the job <br />classification changes in the proposed Resolution. All affected bargaining groups were <br />provided the changes on May 13, 2024. Specifically, management met and conferred <br />with the Police Officers Association (POA) on June 10 and the Service Employee <br />International Union (SEIU) on June 4, June 11, June 25, and July 2 to obtain <br />agreement for the recommended removal of certain job classifications that are no <br />longer in use and update job classifications. The removal of the job classifications <br />have no impact on City employees or the budget. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The approved FY 2024-25 Budget includes enough funds for pay increases reflected in <br />this document. <br />EXHIBIT(S) <br />1.
