ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME~R~ SA~ ~-/-~ <br />TERRITORY OF ,IRVINE'S SUBDIVISION ANNEX NO. 1" <br />AND GIVING NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory <br />herein described, a description and map of said territory were <br />presented to the Santa Ana Planning C~,u~ission, which approved <br />annexation of said territory, and to the Orange County Boundary <br />Cc~mission, which caused a report to be prepared finding that the <br />map did not agree with Line 7 on Page 1 of the description which <br />showed "Range 9 West", and that Line 27 on Page 2 of said description <br />showed the prefix "NS" had been left out of the ordinance number and <br />that the same should read "Ordinance NS-64!';and that for these reasons <br />the boundaries of said proposed annexationwere not reasonably <br />definite and certain and were returned for correction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said corrections have now been made to Line 27, <br />Page 2 of said description and to the map to show "Range 9 West" <br />and to show the book and page where the same is recorded. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for annexation of said <br />territory, herein described, to the City of Santa Ana for the <br />following reasons: <br /> <br />That the said territory can best be served by the City <br />of Santa Ana with municipal services of the highest <br />quality anywhere obtainable at a cost for such services <br />which is lower than can be obtained anywhere else in <br />the County of Orange; <br /> <br />That it is to the mutual advantage of the City and the <br />land owners that said territory become a part of said <br />city. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares <br />its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described <br />under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act <br />of 1939; hereby finds and declares that said territo~y is uninhabited <br />within the meaning of Government Code Section 35303 on the date of <br />the adoption of this Resolution; and that said territory is contig- <br />uous to the City of Santa Aha, lies in the County of Orange, State <br />of California, and is described as: <br /> <br />Beginning at an angle point in the Santa Ana City boundary, <br />established as the Northeast corner of land annexed to Santa <br />Ana by Ordinance No. NS-64, said point being at the inter- <br />section of the center line of Dyer Road with the West line <br />of the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way as conveyed to <br />the Santa Ana Railroad by deed recorded in Book 13, Page 9, <br />Deeds, Records of Orange County, California, said center <br />line of Dyer Road being on the South line of the Northwest <br />Quarter (N.W.%) of Section 30, Township 5 South, Range 9 West, <br />San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence departing from said <br />City boundary North 1° 44' 42" East, 50.00 feet to a line <br />parallel with and distant Northerly 50.00 feet, measured at <br />right angles from said center line of Dyer Road; thence along <br />said parallel line South 88° 15' 18" East, 660 feet, more or <br />less, to an angle point in land conveyed to the state of <br />California by deed recorded in Book 6049, Page 720, Official <br />Records of said Orange County; thence North 66° 11' 53" East, <br />45.11 feet to a line parallel with and distant Northwesterly <br />237 feet, measured at right angles, from the Northwest line <br />of Irvine's Subdivision, as shown on a map recorded in <br /> <br /> <br />
