<br />Communication was read from C.W.Severne expressing pleasure,

<br /> satisfaction and advantages of being a homeowner in Santa Aha and on
<br /> motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the

<br /> communication w~s received and filed.

<br />.A petition was read signed by seven residents and property owners in
<br />the 1600 blocks of Louise ~ Bristol Streets protesting the City
<br />burning off weeds on four lots on North Bristol Street which caused
<br />smoke and damage to their homes. On motion of Trustee Hunter,
<br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the petition was referred to the
<br />Administrator with Instructions to contact the persons named on the
<br />
<br /> petition in an effort to appease the protestants.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the
<br /> request of Otto P. Dixon for installation of overhead street lights
<br /> on Patton Street between St. Gertrude and St. Andrews Streets, was
<br />
<br /> referred to the City Engineer with power to act.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the
<br /> application of the Ladies! Auxiliary Military Order of ~he Purple
<br /> for permission to solicit funds and sell violas, August 8th and 9th,
<br /> was granted and request for reservation of one parking space on Fourth
<br />
<br /> Street was referred to the Chief of Police with power to act.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the
<br /> applications of William R. Stewart and Vivien Samarr to drive taxicabs
<br /> were received, filed and permits granted.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, proper
<br /> officials were authorized to execute agreement between the City and
<br /> Alton L. Martin, for the construction of a dead-letter sign at 808 So.
<br /> Main Street, a portion of which dead-letter sign will extend over and
<br />
<br /> upon the five-foot set-back line.

<br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending
<br /> approval of Tentative Map of Tract 1574, subject to certain conditions
<br /> which Tract is located on the westerly side of South Bristol Street
<br /> between the westerly projection of Wilshire Avenue and Tract 1508, and
<br /> covers the improvement of Elder, Spruce, Pacific, Poplar, Hesperian
<br /> and Bristol Streets. On motion of T~astee Jerome, seconded by McBrid,
<br /> and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was accepte,
<br /> and Tentative Map of Tract 1574 approved, subject to conditions as
<br /> set forth by the Planning Commission.

<br />No. 1574 and bond submitted by Barkley Square, Inc., signed by Butt
<br />Huff, President, in the sum of $$0,000.00 were approved and officials
<br />authorized to sign Map covering improvements of Elder, Sp~ace, Pacific
<br />Poplar, Hesperian and Bristol Streets.
