224 <br /> <br />In Re <br />Tentative Nap <br />Tract 1459 <br /> <br />In Re <br />Protests <br />Widening <br />South Main St. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Request <br />Provide crossing from <br />Nc.side 1st St. to <br />entrance of Prentice Park <br /> <br />In Re <br />Tentative Map <br />Tract No. 1608 <br /> <br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending <br /> approval of Tentative Map of Tract No. 1459, subject to certain ~ <br /> conditions, which ~ract consists of 66 lots and involves part of the ~I <br /> property between the Freeway and .17th Street and between Santiago and <br /> Lincoln Avenues. On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dah~ and <br /> carried, the recommendation ~of the Planning Commission was accepted an~ <br /> Tentative Map of Tract No. 1459 approved subject to conditions as set <br /> forth by the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />AttOrney Fred Johnson appeared before the Council and presented a ~ <br />petition signed by fifteen residents and property owners objecting to : <br />the widening of South Main Street between McFadden and Anahurst Street <br />on account of inadequate drainage problems, traffic flow, uniform <br />footage, reasonable compensation for footage and changes in buildings, ~ <br />etc. Mr. Johnson also presented a petition signed by seven residents ii <br />and prop~erty owners requesting that the widening project be abandoned <br />at this ~time or~ until the State decides that the widening is necessary <br />and signors requested receipt of quit-claim deeds for return of their ~ <br />property. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, i <br />the petitions wsre ~eceived, filed and taken under consideration. <br /> <br />Fred Vollmer stated that some of the buildings in the area projected <br />over the set-back line and the City Engineer answered that a few build-i <br />ings do project over the set-back line but this has been called to the ' <br />attention of the State Highway Department. Officials pointed out that <br />a total of 68 per cent of the property owners between McFadden and <br />Anahurst Street had donated the rights-of-way for the widening. Trustee <br />Hunter stated that between 72 and 75 per cent of the property owners <br />have signed deeds. Fred Devenncy stated that many people who signed <br />easements to the city for the work were not informed as to the true <br />nature~ of ~he project.. William Poulson, on behalf of various propertyi <br />owners~ stated his reason for objecting to the widening. On motion of <br />Trustee McBride, seconded by. Hunter and carried, the petitions were <br />denied. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the request <br />of Mrs. Patricia Herzog that either a crossing be provided or a <br />boulevard stop sign be installed at First and Lyon Streets, was referre~ <br /> <br />to the State Highway Department.~ <br /># <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />approval of Tentative Map of Tract No. 1608, subject to certain <br />conditions, which Tract consists of l??~lots, and is bounded on the <br />east by North~Bristol Street and roughly on the north by Santiago Creek <br />and on the south by a line approximately 55 feet north of the westerly <br />projection of the center~line of Santa Clara Avenue. On motion of <br />Trustee Dahl, seconded by Hunter and Carried, the recommendation of the: <br />Planning Commission was accepted and Tentative Map of Tract No. 1608 <br />approved subject to conditions as set forth by the Planning Commission <br />and subject to the following conditions: (1) extend Poplar Street to <br />the south line of Tract, (2) top eucalyptus trees on creek edge to 40 ft. <br />above the ground, (3) remove eucalyptus trees on Bristol Street. ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
