RESOLUTION 63-201 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA AAIA URGING THE ADOPTION OF A <br />STATE STATUTE WHICH WOULD REQUIRE SCHOOL <br />DISTRICTS TO CONTRIBUTE TOWARD THE EXPENSE OF <br />MAINTAINING SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD PROTECTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, school district boundaries are seldc~a coterminous <br />with city boundaries and many districts contain territory in two <br />or more cities and most districts contain unincorporated territory; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, cities most commonly maintain school structures <br />within cities and continually petition city councils to provide <br />school crossing guards at city expense to serve pupils attending <br />school regardless of place of residence; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it appears more equitable to have crossing guard <br />expense borne by the school districts, or at least shared by the <br />district and the city on an equal basis. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, urges <br />the adoption of a State statute requiring that school districts be <br />required to appropriate school funds to contribute toward the <br />expense of maintaining school crossing guard protection. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Aha at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of December, 1963. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, DORIS M.
