240 <br /> <br />Council Chamber <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br />August ll, 1952. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in adjourned regular session. <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees William Jerome, J. L. McBride, <br /> Orson H. Hunter, Milford W. Dahl, <br /> Courtney R. Chandler. <br /> Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />A previous meeting and hearings having been <br />scheduled by the Planning Commission in the <br />Council Chamber, the City Council adjourned its <br />meeting to the Mayor's Office. <br /> ,, <br /> Captain James Klepper presented a <br /> <br />In Re <br />Reeuests <br />S.A. Firemen's <br />Benevolent Assn. <br /> <br />Inc. <br /> <br />men's Benevolent Association, Inc. <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> 1. <br /> 2. <br /> 3. <br /> <br />co~munication, of the Santa Ana Fire- <br /> <br />setting forth requests voted upon, <br /> <br />Contact the City Council and req,~st a 20% salary increase. <br />If this is refused request a 60 hour work week. <br />If this is refused request the City Council to place the <br />60 hour work week on the November 1952 ballot. <br />If the Council refuses we will circulate petitions to <br />secure the r~quired amount of signatures. <br /> <br />Discussions were had on the cost involved, number of additional men <br /> <br />required for a sixty hour work week and comparisons made with other <br /> <br />cities of comparable size and on motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by <br /> <br />Hunter and carried, the communication was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br />request for a 20% increase in salary was denied. <br /> <br />Commenting that the request for a sixty hour work week would require <br /> <br />twelve additional men in the Department, it was moved by Trustee <br /> <br /> <br />
