RESOLUTION NO. 6~-226 REQUESTING THE <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE <br />ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE <br />DEVELOPMENT OF FOURTH STREET <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha desires to improve Fourth Street from <br />Santa Aha Freeway to Tustin Avenue, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Fourth Street is an important artery in the County of Orange <br />and of general County interest, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets <br />and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds ap- <br />portioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City <br />in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, <br />provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal <br />Year 1964-65 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated <br />cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway <br />Financing Program. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to <br />said City from County Funds the amount of $27,600.00~ said amount to be matched <br />by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of <br />Fourth Street from Santa Aha Freeway to Tustin Avenue, and for the acquisition <br />of necessary rights of way; said improvements <br />to be in accordance with the attached project statement; <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of <br />Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of <br />way on Fourth Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution~ the City of Santa Aha <br />agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and <br /> <br />further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements will <br />be available for the Fiscal Year 1964-65. <br /> <br /> <br />
