Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/public-works <br />Item # 22 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />August 6, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Hardscape Pavement Cleaning and Infectious Waste Removal <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Agreement Amendment with Superior Property Services, Inc. for Hardscape Pavement <br />Cleaning and Infectious Waste Removal Services (Non -General Fund) (Revive Santa <br />Ana Program) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute the second amendment to the agreement with <br />Superior Property Services, Inc. to increase the total compensation amount by $52,500 <br />for a total agreement amount not to exceed $2,019,068 (Agreement No. A-2024-XXX). <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: Yes <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency (PWA) maintains the Santa Ana Civic Center as part of the <br />Civic Center Joint Powers Authority with the County of Orange. The PWA Park Services <br />team oversees the pressure washing, cleaning, and infectious waste removal of <br />hardscape throughout the Civic Center. <br />On January 24, 2022, Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 22-010 for hardscape <br />pavement cleaning and infectious waste removal services was issued on the City's <br />online bid management and publication system, PlanetBids. As a result of the RFP, the <br />City Council awarded an agreement with Superior Property Services, Inc. for services <br />from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2026. <br />During the term of the agreement, $700,000 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) <br />funds were identified and allocated to increase the level of pavement cleaning and <br />infectious waste removal in city parks and other street locations (Project No. 22-1402). <br />The City Council approved the first amendment to the agreement with Superior Property <br />Services, Inc. on December 20, 2022 for this expansion of services. <br />Through ARPA, the City was able to provide an increase in pressure washing and <br />infectious waste removal from Monday through Friday, eight hours per day. To finalize <br />and conclude this expansion of services, staff recommends increasing the current <br />agreement with Superior Property Services, Inc. in the amount of $52,500 to pay for <br />
