Human Resources <br />www.santa-ana.org/human-resources <br />Item # 34 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />August 20, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Adoption of an Extension and First Amendment to the Memorandum of <br />Understanding ("MOU") by the Service Employees International Union Local 721 Part - <br />Time Civil Service Employees Unit ("SEIU-PTCS") <br />TITLE <br />Adoption of an Extension and First Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding <br />("MOU") by the Service Employees International Union Local 721 Part -Time Civil <br />Service Employees Unit ("SEIU-PTCS") <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute an extension and first amendment to the existing <br />Memorandum of Understanding with SEIU-PTCS regarding wages, hours, and other <br />terms and conditions of employment effective through June 30, 2025, and authorize <br />non -substantive changes, which may be necessary to implement the agreement <br />(Agreement No. A-2024-XXX). <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: No <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City and SEIU-PTCS agreed upon an extension of the existing MOU along with <br />certain amendments regarding salary increases and city holidays. The extension and <br />amendment provide the following: <br />1. Term: The original term of the contract was from July 1, 2019 through June 30, <br />2022. The extension would lengthen the term through June 30, 2025. <br />2. Salary: <br />a. A base salary increase of six (6) salary rate ranges, which is <br />approximately three percent (3%) effective July 1, 2022. <br />b. Three percent (3%) wage increase effective the first full pay period <br />after July 1, 2023. <br />c. Three percent (3%) wage increase effective the first full pay period <br />after July 1, 2024. <br />
