City Clerk's Office <br />www.santa-ana.org/city-clerks-office <br />Item # 38 <br />o`er City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />August 20, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Voting Delegate for Cal Cities 2024 Annual Conference General Assembly <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Designate a Voting Delegate and up to Two Alternates for League of California Cities (Cal <br />Cities) 2024 Annual Conference General Assembly <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Designate a voting delegate and up to two alternates for the Cal Cities Annual Conference <br />General Assembly on Friday, October 18, 2024. <br />GOVERNMENT CODE 484308 APPLIES: No <br />DISCUSSION <br />The League of California Cities (Cal Cities)' 2024 Annual Conference and Expo is <br />scheduled to take place in Long Beach from October 16 to 18, 2024. Of particular <br />significance at the conference is the Annual Business Meeting, where Cal Cities <br />provides member cities, like the City of Santa Ana, an opportunity to consider and act <br />on resolutions that establish Cal Cities policy. <br />Cal Cities bylaws indicate that each city is entitled to one vote to take a position on <br />matters affecting municipal or Cal Cities policy. To expedite the conduct of business, <br />every city is required to designate a voting representative and up to two alternates who <br />will represent the City at the League Business Meeting (Exhibit 1). These designations <br />must be made by City Council action. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />
