RESOL~fION NO. 61-52 OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, <br />CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING OPPOSITION TO A. B. 127 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha approved <br />of the adoption of the "Brown Act", Chapter 9, Part 1, Division 2, <br />Title 5 of the Government Code and believes that said legislation <br />was proper and useful; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now proposed to amend and extend the said <br />"Brown Act" provisions by Assembly Bill 127 in a manner that, in <br />the opinion of this Council, would in many cases operate against <br />the public interest and would or could result in increasing the tax <br />rate and otherwise adversely affect public agencies. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That this City Council urges <br />the members of the Assembly Committee on Governmental Efficiency and <br />Economy not to support or vote for Assembly Bill 127 and urges the <br />members of the Legislature of the State of California to oppose <br />Assembly Bill 127 in the firm belief that no abuse exists that cannot <br />be regulated by the "Brown Act" as it now exists. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of February, 1961. <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORA/qGE ) <br />CITY OF SA~I'A ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, MARION SUTTNER, do hereby certify that I am the Clerk of <br />the Council of the City of Santa Ana; that the foregoing Resolution <br />was regularly introduced to said Council at its regular meeting held <br />on the 20th day of February, 1961, and was at said meeting regularly <br />passed and adopted by the following vote, to-wit: <br /> <br />AYES, <br /> <br />COUNCILMEN: Royal E.
