City Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees <br />Absent: Trustees <br /> <br />William Jerome, J.L.McBride, <br />Oraon H. Hunter, Milford W. Dahl, <br />Courtney R. Chandler. <br />None <br /> <br />Council Chamber <br />Santa Ana City Hall <br />November 3, 1952. <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies <br />of the Minutes of. October 20, 1952, reading of the <br />Minutes was dispensed with and approved on mo~ion of <br />Trustee Jerome, seconded by Hunter and carried. <br /> # <br /> <br />In Re On motion of Trustee Dahl,seeOnded by Jerome <br />Bids <br />Install two gas <br />fired boilers <br />Community Center <br /> <br />In Re <br />Bids <br />Install conduit <br />and appUrtenances <br />Fire Alarm System <br /> <br />In Re <br />Amend. Application <br />provision for fen6es <br />around Junk yards, <br />etc. <br />Hearing date <br /> <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Petition <br />to close North <br />Flower Street <br /> <br />was authorized to open bids for the installation of two gas.fired <br />boilers at the Community Center, ll0$ ~. 8th St., as follows: <br /> <br />Bid of Anderson Plumbing Co.: Bond in the amount of $650.00 <br />accompanied bid. <br />Install two gas boilers for the sum of $$,969.00. <br />Contractor will deduct from bid the sum cf $146.00 if <br />existing boilers and all mnms~le materials become the <br />property of contractor, <br /> <br />Bid of E.R.Jcrdan: Bond in the amount of $525.00. <br />Remove existing boilers located in building at 1105 <br />8th St. and install in their stead new L.J.Mueller <br />Climatrol #20-2-27 boilers, and d$1iver old boilers to <br />2314 Halladay St, for the sum cf $5,252,00. <br /> <br />Bid of Pacific Plumbing Company: Bond in the amount of <br />10% accompanied bid. <br />Install two boilers at the Community Center for the <br />sum of $5,050.00. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Jerome and carried, the bids <br />were referred to the Administrator, Engineer and Park Superintendent <br /> <br />for report at this meeting. <br /># <br /> <br />The Clerk stated that no bids were received for the furnishing and <br />installing conduit and appurtenances for Fire Alarm System for the <br />Fire Department. On motion of T~ustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and <br />carried, the Administrator wss authorized to negotiate for the furn- <br />ishing and installing conduit and appurtenances for Fire Alarm System <br /> <br />for the Fire Department. <br /># <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing of protests and no protests havln <br />been received, on motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by McBride and <br />carried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare an amendment to <br />the Municipal Code reference amendment application No. 92 requiring a <br />six foot solid fence or wall around Junk yards, salvage yards and <br /> <br />certain other yards, and to provide for a six months compliance clause <br /># <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing of protests and no protests havin <br />been received reference Amendment Application No. 96 of Harold H. <br />Greenwald oral, to reclassify from R-2 Residential District to the <br /> <br />C-2 General Commercial District, a parcel of land 150 feet deep along <br />the south side of West First Street between Baker and Bristol Streets,! <br />the parcel being described as the east 550 feet of the north 150 feet <br />of Lot 1 of Tract No. 905. On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by <br />Jerome and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare amend- <br /> <br />merit to Municipal Code to reclassify the property. <br /># <br />A petition was read signed by $63 residents of North Flower Street <br />requesting that the street be closed off completely. Dr. Horace C. <br />Leecing stated that the accident rate at the intersection of North <br /> <br />In Re <br />Amend.
