RBSOLUTION NO. 61-64 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING OPPOSITION <br />TO SENATE BILL 765 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is informed that Senate Bill <br />Number 765 proposes to realign McArthur Boulevard to route said <br />Boulevard around a runway extension on the Orange County Airport; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, for several years there has been discussion about the <br />enlargement, relocation and/or extension of said Orange County Airport <br />at the Orange County level, and in each case the City of Santa Ana <br />and, on several occasions, other cities of the County have expressed <br />opposition to a change of alignment of McArthur Boulevard; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, McArthur Boulevard is a Southerly extension of Main <br />Street in the City of Santa Ana and the two streets afford a direct <br />connection for traffic flow for the six principal cities to the ocean <br />front at Corona Del Mar which should be preserved for the benefit of <br />Newport Beach and for the vast majority of citizens of orange County, <br />California. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana hereby expresses official opposition to Senate Bill <br />Number 765, requests that the same not be reported out of committee <br />and requests that each and every member of the Senate record his vote <br />against said Bill if presented upon the floor Of the Senate. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br /> <br />Ana, California, at its <br /> <br />1961. <br /> <br />ATT~-ST: <br /> <br />~ERK OF TH~ COUNCIL <br /> <br />regular meeting held on the 6th day of March, <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
