portion of such contribution shall be <br />reconverted to cash and distributed to the <br />retiree's designated beneficiary. <br />b. Upon nondisciplinary termination of employment <br />after fifteen (15) years of cumulative full-time <br />service with the City, each qualified employee <br />shall be entitled to payment for two-thirds <br />(2/3) of the total sick leave benefit credited <br />to his or her account upon the effective date of <br />such termination to be applied toward health <br />insurance premiums only as specified in Section <br />10.1K2a above excluding Subsections i and ii. <br />10.2 Bereavement Leave. An employee shall be granted up to four <br />(4) days leave (32 hours for 40-hour—workweek employees and <br />48 hours for 24-hour shift employees) without loss of pay in <br />case of death of a member of the employee's immediate <br />family. Such leave is designated as bereavement leave. <br />"Immediate family" as used in this section is limited to: <br />A. Any relative by blood or marriage who is a member of the <br />employee's household; <br />B. A parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, grandparent or <br />grandchild of the employee, regardless of residence; <br />C. Any other relative of the employee by blood or by <br />marriage where it can be established by the employee that <br />as a result of such relative's death, the employee's <br />presence is required to handle funeral arrangements <br />and/or matters of estate. <br />10.3 Military Leave. <br />A. Proof of Orders and Reinstatement. An employee shall be <br />granted military leave if he or she furnishes the chief <br />personnel officer satisfactory proof of his or her orders <br />to report for duty. Upon return and upon showing of <br />proof of actual service pursuant to such orders, he or <br />she will be reinstated as provided in Section 9-143 of <br />the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of the City of <br />Santa Ana. <br />B. Temporary. Members of the reserve forces of the United <br />States, or the National Guard, granted temporary leave <br />when ordered to duty, in accordance with the Military and <br />Veterans Code, will be granted leave with pay not to <br />exceed thirty (30) calendar days in each calendar year <br />after one year's service with the City upon presenting <br />satisfactory proof of orders to and from such temporary <br />active duties. <br />10.4 Jury and Witness Leave.
