RESOLUTION NO. 61-97 RECITING THE FACT OF THE <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SANTA ANA, <br />CALIFORNIA, AND IN SANTA ANA SCHOOL DISTRICTS <br />TERRITORY OUTSIDE OF SAID CITY, ON APRIL 4, 1961, <br />AND DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, by Ordinance No. NS-507, duly called <br />and provided for the holding of a General Municipal Election to fill <br />offices on the City Council and the Board of Education, and said Election <br />was held and conducted on April 4th, 1961, as required by law; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice of said Election was duly and regularly given in <br />time, form and manner as provided by law; the Election Officers were ap- <br />pointed, the votes cast in said Election were received and canvassed and <br />the returns were made and declared in time, form and manner as required <br />by law; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on the llth day of April, 1961, at the hour of 4:30 P.M., <br />the City Council duly assembled at an adjourned regular meeting in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Hall, appointed a special Canvassing Board <br />and the Clerk of the Council appointed the same Board to canvass the <br />absent voters' ballots; said Council adjourned to 7:30 P.M. when it again <br />assembled in said Council Chambers in an adjourned regular meeting, re- <br />ceived and canvassed the returns of said Election, as a result of whichr <br />the City Council finds and declares the results of said Election. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. That there were 85 voting precincts established for <br />the holding of said Election, consisting of consolidations of regular <br />election precincts for the holding of State and County elections. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. That said General Municipal Election was held and con- <br />ducted in all respects as required by the Charter of the City of Santa <br />Aha and in accordance with the provisions of the Election Code of the <br />State of California for the holding of elections in cities of the sixth <br />class (now general law cities) for the purpose of electing three members <br />of the City Council and three members of the Santa Ana Board of Education. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said Election <br /> <br />was 13,404. <br /> <br /> That the names <br /> <br />of the persons voted for; the office for which each <br /> <br /> <br />
