CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />of the City of Santa Ana, the Contractor shall implement approved control measures, following <br />all Federal, State, County, and municipal laws, regulations and ordinances required for the <br />approved work. <br />Approved control measures shall be continued until the disease, insect or rodent is controlled to <br />the satisfaction of the City of Santa Ana. The Contractor shall utilize all safeguards necessary <br />during disease, insect or rodent control operations to ensure safety of the public and the <br />employees of the Contractor. <br />All pesticide operations, where required, shall be performed by a Qualified Applicator as certified <br />by the State of California Department of Pesticide Regulation. The Contractor shall be <br />responsible for compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding <br />pesticide usage. <br />Contractor shall provide complete and continuous pest control and/or eradication of all pests or <br />diseases in accordance with the specifications contained herein. <br />1.6. IRRIGATION SYSTEM MAINTENANCE <br />1.6.1 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES <br />Irrigation shall be done by the use of automatic or mechanical sprinkler systems, where available <br />and operable, or manually; however, failure and/or damage of the existing irrigation system to <br />provide full and proper coverage shall not relieve the Contractor of the responsibility to provide <br />adequate irrigation with full and proper coverage to all areas in the contract work site. <br />Newly planted trees, shrubs, ground cover, and turf shall receive special attention until these <br />plants are established. Adequate water shall be applied to promote normal healthy growth. <br />Proper berms or basins shall be maintained during the establishment period. <br />Any damages to public or private property resulting from excessive irrigation water or irrigation <br />water runoff shall be charged against the contract payment unless immediate repairs are made <br />by the Contractor to the satisfaction of the City of Santa Ana. <br />Contractor shall vacuum all irrigation cabinets and controllers, both inside and outside, and <br />maintain in a thoroughly clean condition at all times. <br />1.6.2 OPERATION OF AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION CONTROLLERS <br />Where the operation of automatic irrigation controllers is required as part of this contract, the <br />Contractor shall: <br />• Do not duplicate any coded City key furnished by the Public Works Agency for access <br />and operation of the controller. <br />0 Surrender all keys furnished by the Public Works Agency at the end of the contract <br />
