61-110 <br />RESOLUTION NO. AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />EXECUTE AN AGRE~4ENT BETWEEN THE METROPOLITAN WATER <br />DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND VARIOUS CITIES <br />AND DISTRICTS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE FOR JOINT <br />PARTICIPATION IN CONSTRUCTION AND USE OF A WATER <br />DELIVERY LINE TO BE KNOWN AS THE "EAST ORANGE COUNTY <br />FEEDER NO. 2" <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the rapid urbanization of Orange County has created <br /> <br />an ever increasing demand for potable water and the creation of new <br />entities that have joined the METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN <br />CALIFORNIA, hereinafter called "Metropolitan", together with new areas <br />presently proposed for urbanization, have now made the lines belonging <br />to Metropolitan inadequate to serve newly annexed entities and presently <br />proposed but not yet used areas of dense population; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, conversations and negotiation regarding the construction <br />of a new feeder have been carried forward for many months between Met- <br />ropolitan and ORANGE COUNTY MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT and COASTAL MUNI- <br />CIPAL WATER DISTRICT, each organized under the Municipal Water District <br />Act of 1911, and the cities of Fullerton, Anaheim and Santa Ana to <br />reach agreement under the authority for joint exercise of powers for <br />construction and use of such a feeder line; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor is hereby <br />authorized for and on behalf of the City of Santa Ana, California, to <br />execute the agreement presently proposed to jointly provide for the <br />construction of a water delivery line to be known as "East Orange <br />county Feeder No. 2". <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the city Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of April, 1961. <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~L~RK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
