RESOLUTION NO. 61-119 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, OPPOSING ASSEMBLY <br />BILL 1593 AND REQUESTING THE CONTINUANCE OF THE <br />COLORADO RIVER BOARD OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, for more than two decades the Colorado River Board <br />has functioned to insure, as best it can, California's rights to <br />water from the Colorado River and has worked with the boards and <br />officials from the other states having or claiming rights to Colorado <br />River water; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, continuity of responsibility in this vital field <br />appears desirable to this City Council, and Assembly Bill 1593 if en- <br />acted in its present form would abolish the California Colorado River <br />Board and transfer its duties and responsibilities to the Department <br />of Water Resources without any apparent saving of tax dollars. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana, California, urges the defeat of Assembly Bill 1593 <br />and protests any attempt to abolish the California Colorado River <br />Board as it is presently constituted. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of S~nta <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 1st day of May, 1961. <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~L~K-OF T~ COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA)' <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) SS <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />AYES <br /> <br />COUNCILMEN: Royal E.
