61-129 <br />RESOLUTION NO. INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR <br />THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME OF "SUGAR <br />EAST OF WARD ANNEX" FOR SAID TERRITORY, AND GIVING <br />NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory <br />herein described, the description and map of said territory were pre- <br />sented to the Santa Ana Planning Commission and the Orange County <br />Boundary Commission, and said Planning Commission approved annexation <br />of said territory and said Boundary Cc~mission caused a report to be <br />prepared inferentially finding the proposed boundaries to be definite <br />and certain. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for annexation of said <br />territory herein described to the City of Santa Ana for the following <br /> <br />reasons: <br /> <br /> 1.) <br /> <br />That the area can best be served by the City of Santa <br />Ana with municipal services of the highest quality <br />anywhere obtainable at a lower cost then elsewhere <br />obtainable. <br /> <br />That it is to the mutual advantage of the land owners <br />and the City of Santa Ana that said territory become <br />a part of said City. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares <br />its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described <br />under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act <br />of 1939, and hereby finds and declares that said territory is unin- <br />habited within the meaning of California Government code Section <br />35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution; that said ter- <br />ritory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of <br />Orange, State of California, and is described as: <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
