Over 200 meetings with interested individuals and groups <br />have taken place at the Welcome Center since that time to hear concerns and ideas <br />related to redevelopment of the site and establishment of the SP. <br />Sunshine Ordinance Community Meetings, and Additional Community and <br />Neighborhood Association Meetings <br />In accordance with Article 11.11 of the SAMC, Related California hosted a first community <br />meeting on September 7, 2022. There were 3,300 notices mailed to advertise the event, <br />which was held at Saddleback High School. Approximately 250 interested parties <br />attended the meeting. The meeting was held using a format with individual stations by <br />topic. Based on the first Sunshine Meeting the following were identified as key <br />community priorities: <br />• Community Meeting Places, a place to meet neighbors and build community; <br />• Security and Safety. Desire for a police substation on the site; <br />• Mobility, Traffic, and Parking. Controlled traffic, intuitive and well -serviced parking <br />for visitors and residents, and better infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists; <br />and <br />• Neighborhood Retail. Retail offerings that include local shops, a grocery, bank, <br />and multiple dining experiences, with a mix of new uses and keeping favorite <br />existing uses. <br />Pursuant to Sunshine Ordinance requirements, a second community meeting was held <br />on November 16, 2022. There were 3,300 notices mailed to advertise the event, which <br />was held at the Westin Hotel. Approximately 80 interested parties attended the meeting. <br />A presentation was given, which introduced the Related Bristol developer's company, <br />site history, SP and project vision, open space, site plan layout, amenities and services, <br />and a summary of the feedback received from the community so far. The public was <br />invited to provide questions and comments. Following the presentation, a panel spent <br />approximately one hour and twenty minutes addressing questions submitted by the <br />audience. <br />In addition to the Sunshine Ordinance community meetings, the applicant has held over <br />200 meetings with local and regional stakeholders and met with 18 individual <br />Neighborhood Associations on 18 separate occasions. These Neighborhood <br />Associations and communities include: Metro Classic, Sandpointe, South Coast, <br />Rosewood Baker, Morning Sunwood, Thornton Park, Wilshire Square, Floral Park, <br />French Park, Republic Homes, South Coast Shores, as well as St. Albans <br />condominiums. The applicant also met with 12 community organizations and 11 <br />business organizations, either at the Welcome Center project site or by partaking in <br />community events, such as outdoor concerts, the Downtown Santa Ana ArtWalk, and <br />community and service organization meetings.
