The City of Santa Ana’s efforts to shut
down this site effectively deprive these individuals of the essential services they
need to survive. We request that the City provide comparable or better services
and collaborate with the County of Orange to keep MHA-OC open until a
suitable alternative location or service is available. The services at MHA-OC
are uniquely tailored to serve chronically homeless individuals with severe
mental health disabilities and are the only ones of their kind in Santa Ana and
the County of Orange. Our clients have nowhere else to go for these services if
MHA-OC closes at its projected end-of-year date.
