61-156 <br />RESOLUTION NO. AUTHORIZING CONDF~V~qATION OF <br />CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY SOUTH OF BOLSA AVENUE, EAST <br />OF NEWHOPE STREET FOR RESERVOIR PURPOSES AND TO <br />PROVIDE ACCESS THERETO AND DECLARING THE NECESSITY <br />THEREFOR <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the population of the City of Santa Ana has increased <br />and is increasing at a rapid rate and thereby necessitating an increased <br />supply of potable water and for adequate storage facilities therefor. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that public interest and <br />necessity require that a reservoir be provided for the storing of water <br />for the inhabitants of the City on certain real property located South <br />of Bolsa Avenue, East of Newhope Street, and that access be provided <br />thereto, all as shown on maps thereof on file in the office of the <br />Department of Public Works, and herein referred to for greater detail, <br />to accommodate the demands of the inhabitants of the City for water; <br />and further require that said City do have, take and acquire fee simple <br />title to certain parcels of land located in the City of Santa Ana, <br />County of Orange, State of California, described as: <br /> <br /> PARCEL 1: The Southerly 204 feet of the East half of the <br /> North half of the West half of the Northwest quarter of <br /> the Northeast quarter of Section 16, in Township 5 South, <br /> Range 10 West, in the Rancho Las Bolsas, City of Santa Ana, <br /> as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 51, Page 12, <br /> Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California. <br /> <br /> PARCEL 2: The Easterly 20 feet of the East half of the <br /> North half of the West half of the Northwest quarter of the <br /> Northeast quarter of said Section 16. <br /> <br /> Excepting the Southerly 204 feet, also <br /> <br /> Excepting the North 30 feet. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Attorney is hereby <br />ordered and directed to bring an action in the name of said City in the <br />Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of <br />Orange, to condemn said property necessary to be taken as herein ordered <br />and described, and to do all things necessary to prosecute said action <br /> <br />to final determination. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
