" <br />RECITALS: <br />WHEREAS, COUNTY provides communication systems and equipment maintenance, repair, <br />training, coordination and engineering services; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY desires to utilize these services; and <br />WHEREAS, COUNTY controls, manages, coordinates and operates the County Coordinated <br />Communications Systems for Fire Services, Law Enforcement, Public Works, <br />Administration and Special Emergency Services; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Coordinated Communications Systems consist of System Backbone <br />and System Field Equipment defined by this Agreement, herein referred to as SYSTEM <br />BACKBONE and FIELD EQUIPMENT, respectively; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY utilizes one or more of these systems; and <br />WHEREAS, COUNTY and CITY desire to identify communication systems maintenance, <br />repair, training, and engineering services responsibilities of COUNTY and CITY, and <br />COUNTY charges for specified services; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual covenants and promises of the <br />parties hereto, hereafter contained, it is mutually agreed by and between the parties <br />as follows: <br />1. CITY agrees to participate in this Agreement and further agrees to maintain <br />and use all CITY -owned equipment that is associated or interfaces with SYSTEM(S) <br />BACKBONE at and in accordance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and <br />California Public Utilities Commission standards and policies in order to enable <br />COUNTY to operate the County Coordinated Communications Systems, to prevent violations <br />and to protect integrity of the County Coordinated Communications Systems. <br />JK:nd:cv <br />1423w-I <br />8-1-88 <br />
