ORANGE COUNTY
B t) S I N E S S COUNCIL 2 Park Plata. Suite 1001 Irvine. CA 92614-59041 P 949.476.22421 F 949.476.9240 I www.oct>c.org
October 10, 2023
Dear Planning Commissioners and Councilmembers,
As the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Orange County Business Council, our investors
and I are strongly focused on enhancing and advancing the economic vitality of the nation's sixth
largest county, Orange County. The proposed Related Bristol mixed -use development in south
Santa Ana is a once -in -a -lifetime opportunity that will deliver tremendous economic and
community benefit in one of the most important cities in Orange County and the entire region.
The Related Bristol ,promises to become the single largest private investment in Santa Ana's 154-
year history at $3 billion. Moreover, Related Bristol will generate approximately $10.7 million in
annual tax revenue to the city and create 7,600 jobs during construction and operation when
construction is complete. Equally important, Related Bristol with its mix of high quality
apartments, retail, dining and 13 acres of open space will be a magnet to draw today's workforce
to live in Santa Ana and work at the growing number of major companies located within walking
distance or a short drive from this transformational project.
Related Bristol is also a prime example of the type of planned development that Santa Ana and
Orange County need to reimagine aging retail centers with declining revenue and acres of
underutilized parking and commercial space. These shopping centers, once bustling with activity,
are increasingly empty reminders of yesterday's retail model. In marry ways, Related Bristol will
become a smart and sustainable model for future growth.
Related Bristol is a win for Santa Ana and a win for Orange County, which is why we strongly
support this development. We urge you to recognize these benefits and approve the 'Related
Bristol project.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Ball
President and Chief Executive Officer
Orange County Business Council
THE LEADING VOICE OF BUSINESS IN ORANGE COUNTY
