On <br />motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, the recommend- <br />ation of the Administrator was approved and the City Engineer instruct- <br /> <br /> ed to prepare a Resolution establishing the passenger loading zone. <br /> " had <br /> The Administrator stated he/received a communication from Mr. Harold <br /> Sprenger, County Road Commissioner, reference a grade separated traffi~ <br /> to be <br /> exchange/extended at the intersection of Bristol Street into La Veta <br /> <br />Avenue. It was moved by Trustee Dahl, and seconded by McBride that <br />the following Resolution be adopted: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, that portion of the State Freeway known as the <br />Santa Ana Freeway between Main Street in Santa Aha and <br />the northwesterly limits of Santa Ana is still in the <br />planning stage; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears to the best interests of the City of <br />Santa Aha that a grade separated traffic exchange be <br />established at the northerly extension of La Veta Avenue, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVE~ that the City of Santa Ana <br />recommend to the Division of Highways of the State of <br />California that a grade separated traffic exchange be <br />established on the Santa Aha Freeway at the northerly <br />extension of Bristol Street connecting with the westerly <br />extension of La Veta Avenue and that the existing Freeway <br />agreement be amended accordingly. <br />RESOLVED FURTHER that a copy of this Resolution be forward- <br />ed to the Division of Highways of the State of California <br />and the County of Orange. <br /> <br />The Resolution was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 53-38 <br />and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Trustees <br /> <br />Noes, Trustees <br />Absent, Trustees <br /> <br />William Jerome, J.L.McBride, <br />Orson H. Chandler. <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by McBride and carried, the City <br />Clerk was instructed to forward a letter to the County of Orange, to <br />be accompanied by Resolution No. 53-38, suggesting that a connection be <br />provided through County territory connecting Flower Street with Bristo! <br />Street at its lnt~rsection with La Veta along the southwesterly side o~ <br />the Southern Pacific Railx-oad~ <br /> <br />The Administrator reported on the analysis of the salary step increasesi <br />as recommended by the various department officials. It was moved by <br />Trustee Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried that since it is apparen~i <br />from the report of the City Administrator that several of the City <br />Departments recommended for salary increases a considerably larger <br />percentage of employees than did other City Departments, that the <br />matter be returned to the City Administrator with instructions that he <br /> <br />carefully survey the procedures of analysis and standards of deter- <br /> <br />mination used by these first mentioned Departments, and that he be <br />instructed to present to this Council on its meeting of March 30th a <br />list of recommendations more definitely in conformance to the intent <br /> <br />of required merit for salary advancement as <br /> <br />Resolution on this matter. <br /># <br /> <br />set out <br /> <br />in the Council's <br /> <br /> <br />
