<br />from foundries in Birmingham, Alabama, based on current rail,
<br />steamer and truck rate, minimum shipment $0,000 pounds, any
<br />changes in which are to be reflected in price quoted, and for
<br />truck delivery to Jobsite, or City storeyard, where available
<br />to large truck and trailer. Unloading to be done by City
<br />forceS. Price does no~ include California State Use Tax of
<br />3% and terms are net thirty days. Delivery within seventy-five days.

<br />was authorized to open the bids for the furnishing, overhauling,
<br />
<br />mo~ing and extending of Fire Alarm System, as follows:

<br />Bid of Grimes Electric: Bond in the amount of 10% accompanied
<br />bid.
<br />Furnishing all equipment, material and labor in accordance
<br />with plans and s~ecifications for a fire alarm system for
<br />the lump sum of $32,900.00. Addenda numbers l, 2, 3 and 4
<br />are included. Price includes the replacement of 28,000 ft.
<br />of #10 overhead circuit wires,~which represents 50% of the
<br />estimated total of existing overhead, circuit wires to be used
<br />in the system. If a larger percentage of these existing over-
<br />head circuits require replacement such material and labor would
<br />be furnished at the rate of $92.00 per'l,000 feet. As an
<br />alternate we offer a system of flashing lights to indicate at
<br />new alarm boxes, which would operate over the regular alarm
<br />circuit wires and could be extended to provide lights at boxes
<br />where overhead circuits are involved, for the sum of $2,243.00
<br />added to our base bid. As a further alternate, we cffer~complete,
<br />modern new main panels in the new Fire Alarm Headquarters, in
<br />place of moving the existing old main panel and repeater, for the
<br />additional sum of $5,936.00 added to our base bid.

<br />Bid of The Gamewell Company: Certified check in the sum of
<br />$3,400.00 accompanied bid.
<br />Furnishing equipment, installation and overhaul of Fire Alarm
<br />System, all in full compliance with "General Specifications for
<br />Fire Alarm System" and Addenda, for the total sum of $33,173.25.
<br />Included in the figure is an amount of $151.25 which covers
<br />engineering services rendered by the field engineers, which is
<br />relevant to the equipment and other work included in this proposal.
<br />Entire work could be completed within approximately 90-120 days
<br />from receipt of order with full information.
<br />

<br />for the vacating of a portion of Orange Avenue in the vicinity of
<br />
<br />Adams Street. The City Attorney reported that the Southern Counties
<br />
<br />Gas Company has a line on Adams Street which would be involved in the
<br />
<br />vacation. It was moved by Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome
<br />
