Contract Staffing Support for the Rent Stabilization and Just Cause Eviction Program <br />October 1, 2024 <br />Page 2 <br />4 <br />5 <br />4 <br />5 <br />$800,000, inclusive of retroactive payments for services rendered since September 7, <br />2024 (as detailed in Exhibit 1). <br />Under this agreement, RSG will continue to assist the City administer the Ordinance by <br />providing the following services: <br />•Provide temporary staffing to respond to public inquiries. <br />•Support staff with the Rental Registry and property exemptions. <br />•Review and process Fair Return Petitions, Capital Improvement Petitions, and <br />written evaluations. <br />•Support City staff with review and process of Tenant Petitions. <br />•Provide support with Petition Hearings. <br />•Assist the City Clerk and staff with the formation of the Rental Housing Board, <br />including Board member trainings, orientations, and materials. <br />•Provide new and temporary staff training, including training materials. <br />•Refer tenant legal matters and interpretation questions to community legal aid <br />organizations, as needed. <br />•Conduct research on best practices and surveys. <br />•Provide advisory services. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are budgeted and available in the following account for the current fiscal year <br />and will be budgeted in future fiscal years: <br />Fiscal <br />Year <br />Accounting <br />Unit-Account <br />Fund <br />Description <br />Accounting Unit, <br />Account Description Amount <br />FY 24-25 18518700- <br />62300 <br />Rent <br />Stabilization <br />Rent Stabilization, <br />Contract Services - <br />Professional <br />400,000 <br />FY 25-26 18518700- <br />62300 <br />Rent <br />Stabilization <br />Rent Stabilization, <br />Contract Services - <br />Professional <br />400,000 <br />Total Expenditures $800,000 <br />EXHIBIT(S) <br />1.
